How It works

The ChoirMix competition is open to all middle school and junior high aged choirs (grades 6-9).
Upon entry you will receive your chosen song, complimentary by email.
The deadline for entry is now extended to March 21st, 2020.
The deadline for video submission is April 30th, 2020.
The videos will be posted on May 1st at which time voting begins and is open to the public. Voting will stay open for 48 hours.
The competition results will be posted by on May 3rd.
Trophies for the Judges' Choice and People's Vote winners will be sent the following week.
Your CLaS evaluation will be sent the following week along with your certificate of participation. (Please let us know if you would like a copy of your participation to be sent to your administrator as well.)

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I enter more than once if I have several choirs? Absolutely, but they would need to perform a different song. Please do a separate entry form for each choir.
Can small ensembles enter? Yes. All special groups may enter including: treble choirs, men's choirs, honor choirs, jazz choirs or small ensembles.
Can we sing non-ChoirMix music? Unfortunately no. For copyright purposes we can only accept submissions of ChoirMix music.
How do I submit the video? Videos can be uploaded to your YouTube or Vimeo account with shareable links sent to Showcase@choirmix.com. Alternatively, you may send your video by email to Showcase@choirmix.com and we will upload it to our page.
How many judges will there be? There will be a minimum of three professional adjudicators.
Are we judged against other groups? No. You will be judged against the CLaS evaluation rubric and how well your group performs based on the CLaS assessment level for your song.
What is a CLaS evaluation? CLaS (Choral Literacy and Skills) is a grade based rubric for assessment. You can access the rubric HERE.
Can we vote for our own group in the people's vote? Absolutely. Spread the word to get as many votes as possible.
Can we dress up in costumes or make the video "fun"? Definitely. Get creative with your videos!

Not-So-Fine Print

Videos will be posted to ChoirMix.com. Please make sure that all your group members have the appropriate parental release/permission to appear in videos as this is a public site. ChoirMix is not liable for any child appearing in a video without parental permission. The videos will remain in our Showcase Gallery unless otherwise requested. We may want to highlight a performance in our newsletter or on our website. If this is the case you will be contacted first. Videos uploaded to school or personal YouTube or Vimeo accounts must be shareable so that other groups may also view your performance.
